When asked what we do, typically our reply would be that we are a "Managing Agent".
But how does that term translate into the search parameters Leaseholders, Freeholders or RTM/RMC companies use when searching for a new agent?
Whilst "Property Management" or "Residential Property Management" describes our line of business, a search engine (such as Google) search throws up some interesting related search options such as;
- Property Management
- Estate Management
- Block Management
- Flat Management
- Residential Block and Estate Management
Whilst different companies may offer a mixture of services based on their perception of the market, broadly speaking all of these descriptions could result in your being provided with a similar list of companies.
If you think that is overly complex, try adding geographical areas to your search. London, Kent, Essex and Surrey all rank highly when coupled with property management, or indeed any of the listed descriptions.
So is Property Management the right corporate umbrella for a Managing Agent? Whilst an effective heading, it fails to encompass all that we do. This means prospective clients have the unenviable task of searching that bit harder to ensure they get the right agent for their development.
